Oklahoma's Credit Union (OKCU) was founded in 1954 to serve highway department employees. In the ensuing decades, OKCU has grown from 19 members to more than 42,000 in 45 Oklahoma counties and 189 state agencies. With this growth, OKCU needed to revamp its website to appeal to many generations and make it easier for members to access electronic channels for account management and more. The credit union leaned on ZAG Interactive to create a new website that eschewed the stodgy feel of a bank in favor of a unique site that is simple, happy and fun.
Starting with a strategic base
ZAG’s strategy team started the project by restructuring the website architecture to reflect simplicity and convenience within a modern design. Once the architecture was determined, ZAG’s design team created a responsive design that allows visitors on any device to experience the complete impact of OKCU's site and its clear paths toward products and services. Offering streamlined navigation, easy access to popular features, and dynamic contact methods, the new, AA conformant design delivers a fresh, modern and intuitive experience for visitors.
Creating a personalized content approach
To complement the visual redefinition of OKCU's site, we created a strategy that helps OKCU execute its plan to appeal to its audience through informational, personalized content that is served up with different messages catering to different demographics. Ahead of the site launch, ZAG’s marketing team implemented a custom analytics tracking strategy that allows OKCU to closely monitor site activity, user interaction, and ultimately help improve ROI.

ZAG’s development team supported the modern design with functionality that enhances the user experience, simplifies content management for OKCU's administrators, and helps visitors quickly access information and tools they need. Built in the Kentico CMS, our development team integrated OKCU's third-party online banking platform along with several other third-party offerings. We also customized the NetLend experience. To allow OKCU's team to centrally manage rate information, ZAG also built a custom rates management tool.
For OKCU, the ultimate result is a fun, easy-to-use website that makes them stand out among Oklahoma financial institutions and will allow them to grow their site over time to meet changing member and business needs.
