Originally known as Municipal Employees Credit Union, MECU initially only served city employees, such as teachers, firefighters and construction workers. Today, MECU Credit Union proudly serves individuals and local businesses throughout the Baltimore metro area. MECU Credit Union chose ZAG to create a website that renews their commitment to their members while introducing a fresh, new brand.
Customizing a new brand and new site design
When the new brand was complete, ZAG and MECU Credit Union collaborated in a discovery session to explore the brand details and begin strategizing the site with MECU’s goals in mind. The new site architecture presented an easy way to find key product and resource information in a way that is also scalable as the credit union grows. The new logo, brand elements and custom site design reflect the credit union as welcoming, friendly and modern. The ADA-conformant design uses the new multi-color brand pattern to communicate that no member is alone in their financial journey.
MECU’s new site also features a solutions finder on the homepage to present products, tools and financial literacy to specific audiences based on life stage. This aligns with the overall brand goal of supporting members to achieve a brighter financial future.
