Empower Federal Credit Union is the largest credit union in Syracuse, NY, and has 20 locations in Upstate New York. Offering financial services to local individuals and businesses they challenged ZAG to modernize their website, provide a more polished flow of information, and create a more self-service focus in the effort to position their website as a virtual branch.
Responsive relaunch and content overhaul
ZAG's design team created an updated, responsive website based on Empower's brand, objectives market trends. The new site simplifies the experience found in the previous version, using mega menus, life stage imagery and an improved site architecture to help users navigate to the appropriate pages. The look of the site kept with Empower’s existing brand style, while updating it to be more appealing to existing and new members.
Empower felt that their old site did not accurately reflect the level of service they were providing, nor was it reflective of the branch experience their members were accustomed to. As such, Empower chose to have ZAG’s copywriting team do a complete rewrite of their existing content to make it more inclusive of their services and focused on member needs. The copy was also crafted to be search engine optimized so the site could better attract search engine visitors.
A polished look using the Kentico CMS
ZAG’s development Team built Empower’s site in the Kentico CMS and integrated it with several vendors to provide a comprehensive digital branch experience for visitors. Integration with Meridian Link allows visitors to open an account from within the website, and Alkami online banking allows their existing members to access their accounts securely. Also integrated is a rates management tool that allows rates to be centrally managed for use throughout the Empower website.
The new site will position Empower well for the future, with a powerful CMS, beautiful design, seamless integrations and the groundwork for an inbound marketing strategy.
