Education First Federal Credit Union, a local credit union based in Southeast Texas, is committed to providing smart banking for everyone. To better project this image and illustrate that the institution is a complete community credit union, not just for educators, Education First chose to work with ZAG Interactive to redesign its website. Putting member education and experience in the forefront, the new website helps the credit union educate and engage audiences, while contributing to business-related objectives.
Defining project goals and guidelines
To discuss goals and objectives for the new website, a discovery session was held between project teams at ZAG and Education First. Primary objectives were to update the look and feel, enhance usability, communicate important information and provide access to valuable financial education. Based on the credit union’s vision, ZAG Interactive developed a site architecture that featured a streamlined navigation and an overarching site strategy that would support Education First’s ultimate goals of boosting membership, product adoption and overall brand awareness.
Designing for continued success
A refreshed, responsive website design was created to bring this strategy to life. Highlighting the brand character through use of colors and other graphical elements, the use of photography helps portray that Education First offers banking solutions for everyone, including all ages and occupations. Strategically defining space for product information, calls to action, promotions, updates, financial education, and more – the site design meets Education First’s current needs, while positioning the credit union for future success as the site evolves and expands.
Attracting and educating audiences
Providing fresh website content to members and website visitors, the new Education First website features a blog and a unique financial education section. Allowing for timely and timeless content, these custom features showcase Education First’s commitment to financial literacy. The new content also presents optimal opportunities to incorporate important keywords and attract audiences at various stages in the consumer journey, as part of the website’s overall search engine optimization (SEO) strategy.
Building a better experience
Offering robust out-of-the-box options and capabilities for customization, the Education First website was built on the Kentico Content Management System (CMS). The powerful platform makes it easy for the Education First team to manage site content, track user activity and more. Leveraging existing features, ZAG also integrated custom rates management and locations management tools to allow for easy, consistent site-wide updates. Consistent with the credit union’s pledge to provide smart banking for everyone, the website was built following ADA conformance standards to ensure equal access for all users, including those with disabilities.
Marketing to make a difference
To generate excitement and awareness of the new website, ZAG Interactive created a website launch campaign. With promotions leading up to the launch, the website scavenger hunt encouraged visitors to explore the new website once it was live. Additionally, to get visitors comfortable with the new site and introduce them to new features and functionality, ZAG created a website tour. Finally, to present users with more relevant promotions and resources based on their on-site activity, a website personalization plan was also put into place leveraging Kentico’s personalization functionality and ZAG’s strategic services.
The new Education First Federal Credit Union website successfully reflects the brand and business goals to educate audiences and provide a better banking experience for everyone. ZAG also collaborated with Education First on a Kentico-based intranet project that ran parallel to their website redesign.
