Upgrading the look and feel with members in mind
The new, responsive website, offers an updated navigation experience with a reorganized site architecture that makes finding products, services and resources easier while also surfacing related Quick Links. The login was also redesigned to better serve members with a streamlined experience that allows visitors to log into Digital Banking, EZ Pay and Mortgage management. A solutions finder was incorporated into the updated site to help visitors through the decision-making process – allowing users to select or match them with the right solution for their needs.
Additionally, resources – such as financial tools, a custom blog and calculators – provide valuable insights to guide visitors along the consumer journey, while conversion-focused landing pages offer a strategic experience to encourage leads.
Creating a consistent yet digestible content experience
ZAG’s copywriting department worked closely with Dominion Energy CU’s team to write fresh content across the entire site that conveys the credit union’s warmth and personality in an upbeat, conversational tone. The writing process also achieved the goal of streamlining content to be more concise while unique page layouts with flexible features kept the content easy to read. Not only does the updated copy develop consistency, but it also provides an improved SEO value.
Developing custom features and functionality
The previous Umbraco theme site was upgraded to a highly custom Umbraco CMS build that includes out-of-the-box features, as well as custom developed components to create a unique and branded experience. The upgraded site also allows administrators to centrally manage content through custom tools such as the rates management tool.
Preparing members for what to expect
As part of the launch, a website tour was included to introduce visitors to the new website, helping them find favorites and explore new features. ZAG also developed a pre-and post-launch website campaign that included a landing page as the hub of the campaign along with additional marketing tactics to generate awareness and reach audiences across multiple platforms.
With a refreshed, ADA conformant site, and improved user experience Dominion Energy CU can continue to meet evolving needs while empowering their members to reach their unique financial goals.
