An energizing new website for this Virginia credit union

Formed in 1940, Dominion Energy Credit Union is a Richmond, Va.-based institution that caters to employees of Dominion Resources, a power and energy company. As a credit union with a long history of exceptional member service, Dominion understood the need to develop a new website that meets its members’ needs in the 21st century, replete with modern convenience and functionality that people expect.

Mobile-friendly, member-centric

Dominion turned to ZAG to create a responsive website that offers better navigation and usability while uncluttering the visual presentation. Our redesign included a reorganized, more intuitive site architecture that makes it easier to find rates, loan forms and membership applications, branches and ATMs, financial education, Dominion’s contact information and more. The mobile-friendly design helps Dominion showcase its mobile app and encourages members to take more control of their finances with do-it-yourself technology. The refreshed design and improved user experience allows Dominion to better connect with its members.

Development based on the Umbraco CMS

Our developers supplemented the clean design with intelligent functionality that enhances the user experience and simplified content management for Dominion Energy CU’s administrators.

Building on the Umbraco Content Management System, our team created clear calls to action on all pages to lead visitors to the next step. We integrated third-party online banking services and created a dynamic rates management database that updates rates across the website within a centralized location. All of this was in an effort to facilitate more self-sufficiency to save members time when searching for information and taking appropriate action.

ZAG’s copywriting department worked closely with Dominion Energy CU’s marketing team to write fresh content across the entire site that conveys the credit union’s warmth and personality in an upbeat, conversational tone. The writing process also achieved the goal of streamlining content to be more concise and easier to read while focusing on the most salient points of any given product or service.

While creating a consistent tone throughout the site, we enhanced all of the content’s SEO value as a result of the ZAG marketing department’s targeted keyword research.
