The cold wind was sharp and gusty. Our sun-starved bodies took longer than usual to warm up. It felt more like early March than May. But Team ZAG Interactive was determined to make a good showing at the HarcWalk and 5K Run on May 4that Rentschler Field in East Hartford.
We powered through the morning chill, energized by the thousands of participants and volunteers who came out to support HARC and its vitally important mission to serve families facing the daily challenges of intellectual disabilities. ZAG Interactive account manager Greg Calnen served as co-chair of the HarcWalk and 5K Run, and joined by ZAG co-workers and many other sponsors and donors, the event raised $23,738 overall, exceeding its goal. As a team, ZAG Interactive performed as an event sponsor and raised money for HARC.
“We are so grateful to everyone who helped raise money for HARC through this year’s event,” said Greg, who raised thousands of dollars individually and has been involved with his family in supporting HARC’s mission for many years. “The money people raised helps us continue providing the programs and services these families need to improve their lives.”
HARC serves more than 1,800 participants and families in the Hartford area by advocating for their human and civil rights and providing community-based services through all stages of life. The tax-deductible contributions go a long way toward funding programs for people of all ages.
Despite the blustery conditions, families gathered to enjoy games, food, music and dancing that accompanied the walk and 5K run.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed money and time to ZAG Interactive so we could do our part in support of HARC and our colleague Greg!
