Beauty may be in the eye of the beholder, but who can argue with the joy brought on by our ugly Christmas sweaters? Many, many thanks to everyone who voted for their favorite sweater in our “Bad Sweater, Good Cause” charity contest that we held from Dec. 13-25.
Rachel Edwards, web developer extraordinaire and right jolly old elf, garnered 1,389 votes to win our competition, so ZAG will be donating money to her favorite charity, the Connecticut chapter of the American Humane Society. The group offers adoption services, medical care, educational resources, and helps prevent animal cruelty.
ZAG will make an additional donation to the Newtown Memorial Fund, which has been set up as a memorial to victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. The fund is designed to be sustainable and multi-generational, providing for victims’ family needs and establishing academic scholarships in victims’ names for classmates and future generations.
Collectively, we received more than 3,000 votes in our contest, so we hope we brought a smile (or shocked expression) to your face and some additional cheer to your holidays. Thanks again to everyone who participated! And here's Rachel in all her Christmas glory...
